]A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...[/i]

The true story of Darth Vader's apprentice as he hunts down the last of the Jedi. I will be rating the Wii Version.
StoryThe story, as I mentioned earlier, is about the quest of Darth Vader's secret apprentice training by killing off the last of the Jedi. It takes place between the Episodes III and IV and fills up a lot of the mystery between the story. Nobody is to know of the apprentice's existence, so he has to kill EVERYbody.
It starts out on Kashyyyk, where the menacing Darth Vader is hunting down a rogue Jedi. After cutting through hundreds of Wookies, Lord Vader duels and defeats the Jedi, taking his son as a secret apprentice. Some time later, (what appears to be 14 or so years) the apprentice is almost complete with his training. The Dark Lord sends him to an imperial ship yard, where Rahm Kota is attacking. The Sith Apprentice kills Kota and presents his lightsaber to Vader. Vader continues to send him on missions to Raxus Prime and others. That's all I can reveal without giving away too much.
I thought the story was fairly well written, albeit short. You had to kind of read the Databank option for more information, because sometimes you weren't told the whole story. 9/10
GameplaySadly, the story is the best part of the game. The levels are fairly linear. Meaning that you have to run down hallways destroying Stormtroopers as you go. There are branches, but they are few and far between. There are collectables as well, which allow you to view concept art and change your lightsaber's color, but it really doesn't add to the gameplay. The battles seem lacking action, since you can abuse two hit combos, and the motions are fairly choppy. Plus there are long strips with no enemies on the forest levels. The force allows you to kill your enemies in interesting ways, included throwing them off cliffs, lightning, choke, and hitting them with other objects; but it gets repetitive.
Almost all the fun resides in the multiplayer mode, where you and a friend (no CPU?) can duel it out as 30 playable characters. Well, 19 playable characters, and a overload of costumes for the apprentice. And with only 9 stages (Hoth, Tantooine, Death Star Etc.) it can also become boring fast. 4/10
ControlsAgain, the controls are lacking. Basic lightsaber to Wii Remote action should appear easy to use. Swing left, Cut Left. Swing Up, Uppercut. Thrust, Stab.
Its not The Wii Remote only reponds to 3/4ths of your actions, allowing you to screw up a combo easily. Very Unsatisfying for a famous developer like LucasArt. The Force does hold true, simple motions allow you to easily zap waves of opponents, and unlockable combos keep it fresh. 5/10
OverallThe game
had potential, and for whatever reason screwed it up. I doubt they will ever remake this game, so we are stuck with it for now. Take my advice: Don't buy this game unless you absolutely have to.
